UQAL Cologne 27.5.-16

Off to see THE worlds best band with THE worlds best peformer/singer/frontman.

This will be my first QAL gig of -16. Intresting to see the new outfits and to hear the new setlist. Also what is different this time around is the fact that all of my gigs are outside and most of them will be festivals. Intresting. Hoping for good weather!

My trip to Cologne will be done alone, but the rest with a cherished fellow traveller 😊

On the plane now bored so writing about what will happen. I hope that at the Cologne gig i get to go near the B-stage aka Killer Queen area where i haven’t been before. I want to get spat at (not something i have ever imagined i would want to happen, but here we are) and see Killer Queen with my own eyes and not via the screen.

Thinking about the past year it’s unbelievable actually.  Even if i or any fan weren’t able to see these gigs we have amazing streams from pretty much every gig and also videos and pics. This fandom is truly the best. So active! No one is left behind. There is always a way to see and hear these unique and beautiful concerts. In one year we have got QAL and TOH. QAL twice actually. Amazing.

Oh and i am really hoping to finally hear The Show Must Go On. I know i heard it at the NYE gig in -15, but it was different. This will be a full blast rock concert. Also it’s one of my all time fav songs and i truly hope to hear it. We shall see…

Rain and thunder. The theme of the night.

We didn’t get TSMGO, but it’s ok. We had a fantastic show anyway. I was second row A-stage (B-stage area was full so i ran to the main stage) saw pretty well. Not the best place since the cameraman was in my view most if the time, but not complaining at all.

Due to the pooring rain Killer Queen was done at the A-stage where he – the diva- could stay dry 🙂

The rest of the songs that are normally done at the B-stage were there tonight also. The rain came down hard, but it didn’t matter. We had a few fun moments with it too. Adam borrowed a fan’s pink umbrella during Somebody To Love and twirled with it and made fun of himself for looking so gay with it. Hahahah!!

After the drum battle Roger introduced Rufus as “My son Roger” then he corrected himself “No that’s me!” Hahahahah!! We all laughed. Very cute.

The band had fun and had to impovise due to the severe rain. Luckily they didn’t cut the show shorter. There is something magical about 20.000+ ppl singing and clapping together Radio GaGa and We Wil Rick You in the pooring rain. I loved it.

The new outfits: my fav’s are the feather jacket with the black pants and the suprisingly shiny/glittery jacket (pics don’t do justice for it) with the golden pants and the crown. I love it. So flamboyand and redicilous. Totally Adam in his rock mode. Perfect.

My personal fav’s from the show were Somebody To Love, Break Free, Tie Your Mother Down, Who Wants To Live Forever, Brian having German notes he flipped thru before singing Love Of My life, Roger calling his son by his own name, Adam being a fool with the umbrella, We Will Rock You.

All in all a very nice and wet night. I miss the guys already.

Pics aren’t mine. Unfortunately i don’t know whom to credit. Found them from twitter. Love the first pic since it shows the condition we had to stand in for hours. It just didn’t stop raining. It was like a monsoon.

My travels

Amsterdam april 13th – early entry, row 5

London april 14th – gereral entry, row 2

Manchester april 16th – general entry, row 7

Tallinn april 20th – general entry, row 1

Helsinki april 21st – VIP, row 2

Stockholm april 23rd – VIP + m&g, row 1

Oslo april 24th – general entry, row 1

Copenhagen april 25th – general entry that was upgraded by a friend to a VIP + m&g row 1

Hamburg april 27th – early entry, row 1

Berlin april 29th  – early entry, row 1

Warsav april 30th – general entry, at the very back of the mosh pit

Intresting to see that the only 100% front row ticket is the m&g one. U can get to the front even with a normal ticket if u are willing to queue for hours on end plus have some luck along the way. Also depending on the size of the venue and the number of early entry ppl ur row may vary dramatically.

As i write this i am sad that my gigs have come to an end, but i am not complaining at all. I got to see 11/16 EU concerts. Some say i am lucky and i know i am, but i also have worked my ass off and saved for a very long time. Still I can’t deny the lonely feeling i have as i know there are still 4 more concerts and i wont be seeing them. The more shows he does the better he gets. Has to be the adrenalin i guess.

Best memories:
-Seeing Adam shine on stage. That’s where he belongs
-Meeting Adam for the first (and second time) in 7 years
-Meeting new ppl while queuing
-Happy, smiley ppl singing and dancing
-Great setlist
-Adam’s cheecky humor
-His super talented band
-Adam’s giggles
-Crazy travels that i will remember even when i am old and gray

48 hours in a car with 3 other ppl, queuing hours on end, sleeping nights at different airports in various countries, washing my hair in a public toilet, getting a m&g upgrade as a suprise, two ppl i had met that very day for the first time shared their hotel room & house with me so i wouldn’t need to sleep at an airport every night, one free general entry ticket given for me, traveling for almost three weeks with ONE BACKBAG….

Also i learned that u should always look your best and wear makeup since you never know – suprise m&g….

Adam has given me and so many others experiences that we could only dream off. Not only do we get to witness incredible talent, but we get to share the love & the crazyness. For anyone else standing in the cold, rain or even in the warm sun for up to 12 hours would be considered insane, but when you are surrounded by other ppl as crazy as you it’s part of the fun. You get to know ppl by their real names, you know who will hold your place in the queue when you go to eat, you become a family in away. A wild, all aged, suprisingly organised and out of their mind family. Hate the word Glamily, but hey!

Love seeing straight, LGBT, women, men and questionable ppl in the audience from ages 10 to 70+. Some look normal (suprising huh), some like they are going to a draq show or a heavy metal gig.

Adam’s silly speach about music uniting ppl is true. It doesn’t matter who you are or what age or gender or sexuality. The only thing that matters is that we apreciate live music. Live music that is actually played and sang (no lipsyncing for me).

When i am at his concerts i get filled with so many emotions. I am in awe of his talent and vocal abilitys when i hear him sing for example Mad World. Then he makes me dance and laugh with FYE,IIHY etc. Eventho the songs are the same the shows never are. He feeds on the energy and feedback from the audience no matter what size the venue is.

I would like to give Molly the VIP cordinator an extra bonus note for being super professional, relaxed and nice.

Adam’s band:

Keyboards  – Peter Dyer

Drums – Brook Alexander

Bass – Darwin Johnson

Guitar – Adam Ross (the other white meat as Adam calls him)

Dancers & backup singers – Holly Hyman & Terrance Spencer

Seen all of the bands Adam has had and this one is THE best. Great energy, mutual respect and highly professional musicians. So good.

Thank you Adam for being true to yourself, funny and sharing your talent with the world. I am so happy to have been able to witness your solo tour and i can’t wait to see you with Queen in the summer.

Warsav gig review

My last show from The Original High tour. Bitter sweet.

This gig i decided not to rush or queue so i ended at the back as i suspected. I didn’t see Adam, but that didn’t stop me from singing, dancing and having a great time.

The audience was loud and wild. Adam said during the show how much he loved the energy and his Polish fans. I suspect that there were many young fans in the front partying as they should since he said he loved the cute ppl 😊 Later after the gig he tweeted that this was one of his favorite gigs thruout his european tour.

I have no idea what he did on stage so can’t really comment on that. We did get the long setlist 💖

Never danced in a sea of ppl before. I have always been in the front or almost at the front. For the last show this was actually an Intresting point if view for me. When i didn’t see him i just closed my eyes and inhaled his voice. Heaven.

Later on from twitter i saw that Fever was on fire. Certainly sounded like it!

As i write this i am happy and sad the same time. I have had such a blast at these gigs and i don’t want them to end.
